Summary
American drama starring Hugh Laurie as Dr Gregory House, a misanthropic medical genius who heads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. House frequently flouts the hospital's rules and procedures, and often clashes with the people he works with because of his tendency to base many of his hypotheses about patients' illnesses on a gut reaction. His small team originally comprised Dr Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer), Dr Allison Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) and Dr Eric Foreman (Omar Epps). House's only true friend is Dr James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), the head of the Department of Oncology. He often provides House with consultations and is always around to pick up the pieces when something goes wrong. Another key figure in House's life is hospital administrator Dr Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). "House" premiered in 2004 and ran for eight seasons, clocking up 177 episodes.
