The Women's Super League rumbles on into the winter months with a host of teams still jostling for position at the top of the tree in time for Christmas.

Two teams in particular have set a swift pace out in front, reigning champions Chelsea and their most likely rivals Arsenal, but there's still plenty of time for the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United to clamber back into the race.

Of course, the spectre of Chelsea boss Emma Hayes' departure to become the new USWNT manager at the end of the WSL season will loom over the 2023/24 campaign. She will be determined to sign off on a high.

At the bottom of the table, new kids on the block Bristol City have struggled to adapt to their new elite surroundings, but they are far from doomed with West Ham, Everton and Aston Villa each unable to free themselves from the relegation battle quagmire right now.

Funnelling the immense interest in women's international football into domestic leagues will be a critical aim for all involved, and the pull of the Lionesses should help draw crowds to matches – in person and on TV.
